Monica C. Ortiz, LMHC
Independent Clinician
My name is Monica Carolina Ortiz and I am a bilingual I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida (License # MH 20596). I’m a strong believer in the power of counseling to facilitate greater self-awareness, a positive change, and healing in your life. The human experience is complex and can be difficult to navigate on your own sometimes. My approach is to provide a safe, compassionate environment to allow you to express yourself and to collaborate towards growth. I view each person as a unique and unrepeatable individual with a God-given purpose. Each individual has the tools to overcome a bump in the road and I am looking forward to joining you on that journey towards self-discovery!
I completed my undergraduate studies at Ave Maria University in Naples, FL, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I obtained a master’s degree from Barry University where I received extensive training, supervision, and education in the field of Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I completed my Practicum and Internship at a psychosocial rehabilitation program that services adults with severe mental health issues. I have additional experience working with adolescents and adults with substance-use disorders, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, grief, and life adjustment issues.
